Hythe Town Youth Trials announcement (2018-04-27) (2018-04-30)

Hythe Town Youth is getting bigger and better as we build upon our name change last season and  increase our ties with Hythe Town FC.

We are pleased the club is allowing to us to host prospective players for Hythe Town Youth at the Reachfield ground for trials, closely watched by the first team coach.

Last season we saw 19 teams compete throughout all the leagues. Three of these took part in the Kent Youth League and next season we are proud to offer U13,U14 and U16 in the Kent Youth League. This is a huge step up for our players and they have done extremely well.

In addition to the Kent Youth League trials at Reachfields, we are hosting open day trials for all teams over the Under 12 age group for East Kent Youth League and Ashford District Youth League, at South Road.

Sevenoaks U14s Off to Madrid (2018-04-08) (2018-04-30)

Sevenoaks Town FC U14's will jet off to the Spanish capital next week for the tour of a lifetime as they spend five days at the famous Ciudad del Fútbol - the training facility of the Spanish national team.

The tour to Madrid is the latest in a series of trips abroad; in the last three seasons the team has travelled to Amsterdam to play in an international tournament, to Paris to play against PSG's Academy and most recently to Lisbon to play against Sporting Lisbon's Academy.

While in Madrid, the team will stay at Hotel Sefutbol which is part of the Ciudad del Fútbol training complex - the very same hotel will host the likes of De Gea, Iniesta, Costa and Piqué in just a few weeks as they prepare for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The tour will include four training sessions with the Spanish national team's youth coaches  on some of the best natural and artificial pitches in the country and two friendlies against top La Liga academies.

In between training and matches, the team will do a stadium tour of the Santiago Bernabéu, spend some time exploring Madrid, take a look at the FIFA World Cup trophy won by Spain's victorious 2010 squad and also watch Athletico Madrid take on Levante.

The team's manager, Sam Lansdale, said: "The lads have made good progress this season and this tour will be a great way to round things off. The facilities and standard of coaching will literally be world class and the opposition awaiting us will involve some of the best youth players in Spain so the boys will need to work hard and focus. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and a great part of what we offer at Sevenoaks Town FC."

The team's five coaches will all be joining the tour to Madrid. Billy Thornton, who guided Bridon Ropes to three Kent Youth League cup finals and most recently won the Ryman Youth League with Tonbridge Angels, leads the coaching setup and is supported by a team of younger coaches including Jack Fordyce, Ryan Gallifant, Toby Branwhite and Tommy Taylor who each focus on a particular position so the players get detailed coaching in their respective roles.

After the team return from Madrid, they'll have six remaining league fixtures before the end of the season - a period which could also see the club's First Team get promoted to the Bostik League for the first time in the club's history.

The team will be looking to add high quality players to the squad over the summer and will be holding a series of trials in April and May. The squad trains twice a week on the newly laid 3G pitch at Greatness Park in Sevenoaks. To get in touch, please contact the team's manager Sam Lansdale on 07809403688 or samlansdale@gmail.com.

Support Mark Harris in the Liverpool Marathon (2018-03-16) (2018-05-31)

: Mark Harris is fundraising for Ronald McDonald House Glasgow

Good afternoon all,

If you didn't already know, I will be running the Liverpool marathon in May.

For those that know me will know that my body was defiantly not made to run 26 miles, but training is well under way and with your support I know I can get through this mammoth challenge.

Please take a few minutes to read my family's story and if you can help keep my little niece's memory alive and donate to this fantastic charity, even better.

Thank you so much in advance.

Support Dan Blades running the London Marathon (2018-03-10) (2018-04-30)

In April, Dan Blades, one of our Kent Youth League referees and previous goalkeeper for Tonbridge Angels and Tunbridge Wells, is running in the Virgin Money London Marathon to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, two charities close to his heart. It has been one of his childhood dreams and he was given the chance to participate by his athletics club, Tonbridge Athletics Club. He has set himself an ambitious target of completing the 26.2 mile distance in 2hrs 45 minutes and at the same time, hopefully raise at least £1,500 for his chosen charities. Dan has already participated in the Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells half marathons in the last six months finishing 4th and 6th respectively, in a best time of 1 hour, 17 minutes and 12 seconds. To help complete his quest, he is seeking the support of the Kent Youth League community and would be extremely grateful if people could follow the link below to read more about his challenge, the charities he is supporting and, if possible, donate to what he believes are two worthy causes.
